How long does rhinoplasty take?

Rhinoplasty operations usually take between 2 to 4 hours, but in revision cases (previously operated noses) and more complex procedures, the surgery may require additional time.

When does rhinoplasty swelling go down?

In the first week after the operation, swelling will reach its maximum level. It will then gradually decrease within 2–3 weeks, but the complete settling of the nasal structure may take between 6–12 months, depending on the individual.

How many days does it take to recover from rhinoplasty?

Within 7–10 days after the procedure, most of the bruising will have subsided and the swelling will be at a minimum level. The healing process may vary from person to person depending on the nasal structure.

At what age can rhinoplasty be performed?

A patient undergoing rhinoplasty must have completed the bone development process. In general, nose aesthetics can be performed after the age of 16 for women and 18 for men.

When can glasses be worn after rhinoplasty?

After rhinoplasty, lightweight glasses can be worn after 3 months, while thick-framed glasses should be avoided until 6 months. Since the bone and cartilage tissues inside the nose are reshaped, it is important to avoid applying pressure during the healing process.

When is the nasal packing removed?

The plastic splint used to support the stability of the modified bone and cartilage inside the nose is usually removed within 5–7 days after the operation.

When do rhinoplasty stitches fall out?

In closed rhinoplasty operations, the stitches placed inside the nose are self-dissolving. Unless an alarplasty (nostril reduction) is performed, only dissolvable stitches are used inside the nose.

Can rhinoplasty and tip surgery be performed at the same time?

Yes, both of these concerns can be addressed simultaneously during rhinoplasty surgery.

How should one prepare before rhinoplasty surgery?

Once the patient decides to undergo the operation, they should stop smoking at least one week beforehand. In addition, products that can increase bleeding, such as alcohol and herbal teas, should also be avoided starting one week before the surgery.

How should one proceed after rhinoplasty surgery?

Since the internal structures of the nose will remain relatively sensitive, you should be especially careful to avoid any impact during the first month. In addition, maintaining a proper diet is very important for the healing process.

Should I go for a check-up after rhinoplasty?

Although minimal, the structure undergoes trauma and therefore requires a healing process. After rhinoplasty, the hardness at the tip of the nose may vary from person to person and can last between 1–3 months.
